Following her sorting, Asena made her way to the Hufflepuff table with her chin tipped high and posture regal. Hufflepuff. It sounded like a soft pastry, not a house for winners.
As she approached the students dawning yellow, both the young and the older alike, she offered them a glowing smile. "Hello, I'm Asena Kaplan," her eyes briefly pausing to look at the boy with his head against the table. Why couldn't she have gone to any other house? What had she done to deserve this???
There would be time to commiserate later. Privately.
For now, she kept her pristine smile in place as she moved to sit on the bench, somewhere at the center of the table. If she had to be a Hufflepuff, she was going to be the most powerful, impeccably glowing Hufflepuff this damp castle had ever seen.
