Ciara exited the line in which she stood with grace and deliberation. Her walk to the Sorting Hat continued in that manner, and just before she sat, she caught a lovely glimpse of the occupants of the four House tables staring in her direction. Surely Tiana and Connor would be hoping she got placed in either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. Cee herself was hoping for Slytherin - only because her daddy was once a member of that House. Sorry, Tyler. And sorry mum - she couldn’t see herself as a Hufflepuff.
The freckled-face girl allowed the Hat to be placed on her head. It couldn’t fall below her forehead due to her thick and healthy curly hair.
Right. Down to business.
“Slytherin, please.” It was a simple request, was it not?
“Ah, but is it? Let me take a look. You would make a lovely Hufflepuff, you know. There is loyalty there, fair play… even if you don’t show it.”
Cee remained silent, a hint of grumpiness rising in her chest. Nope, she did not wish to be placed in Hufflepuff.

With a smug expression, the first year hopped to her feet, quite forgetting the earlier grace, to speed off to her House table.
