And her stride could almost be described as ‘bouncy’ as she entered the room.

“Hi, Professor Cox!” She greeted with a small wave as she passed him. She went right for the display rack and took a minute to find the phial labeled with her name.

It was… not delicious. She wondered if there was any potion that tasted good. Though, she supposed that it would be unfair to assume that anything containing flobberworm mucus and mooncalf tendon shavings would be anything but kind of gross.

She slipped the empty phial into her pocket for safekeeping and began counting to ten hippogriffs out loud. She wouldn't rush this.
He glanced up from where he stood beside the display rack and offered the Ravenclaw a short nod in response to her... chipper salutations. The wave, naturally, was not reciprocated but very much noted ― as was the energetic bounce to her step, something that was much more reminiscent of certain Gryffindors.

Perhaps the conversation in his office had left the fifth year feeling a bit too comfortable around him. She had, after all, possessed the entirely reasonable level of apprehension one expected from students in the presence of their professor and, now, Head of House. Now she was greeting him with waves and arriving at extracurricular potion experimentation looking as though she had just been informed there would be cake.

Darjeeling First Flush had absolutely read him for filth. He did care far more than he ever intended to.

"Miss Webb."

His brow arched as she pocketed the empty phial before she began counting and cleared his throat.

"You may return that to the rack if you wish. No need to carry something breakable on your person. In fact, I encourage you to do so."

"Hello, Professor Cox!" she greeted as soon as she stepped into the room. She was more than ready, and she knew that her brew had turned out perfectly. So at the very least she didn't have to worry about that being an issue.

She curiously glanced around the room in order to take in the obstacle course, then made her way over to the different potion phials, grabbing hers.

It certainly wasn't the most pleasant tasting thing she had ever drank, but Aurora had had worse. Now to wait for ten hippogriffs.
"Miss Bay," he greeted with a slight nod.

Professor Cox was in the process of rolling his sleeves neatly toward his forearms as his attention followed the Hufflepuff's progress toward the display rack. One cuff was adjusted, then the other, fingers briefly smoothing the crease before settling.

A passing thought surfaced — something related to a letter sent to his sister and observations made throughout the term. The thought was dismissed almost as quickly as it arrived. This was neither the time nor the place for revisiting correspondence.

Instead, he inclined his head toward the first section of the trial course.

"A Peppermint Toad awaits you at the end of it all," he observed dryly, noticing the expression that had followed the first swallow. "Though I am afraid you will be forced to coexist with the aftertaste until then."
