Sardines ♥ // Nomsy, yo ❄ rolling in the ink ❄ Oh no. Marina’s tone made something roll uncomfortably in Cat’s stomach. They had to move past this topic, or Cat was going to either be sick or start crying. Neither of which sounded even remotely appealing at this point.
And then they were hugging. The tightness in Cat’s chest constricted more for a moment before relaxing completely as she returned the embrace. She even smiled a bit at the shoulder nudge and leaned gently into Marina’s space for a moment longer before righting herself.
Perfect chance to change the subject, now. "Speaking of being able to come to you whenever,” she said, brightening a bit, “I learned about a spell that can make notes appear, like, anywhere. I’m trying to figure it out. So, once I do, we could send notes to each other, like, anywhere.” The possibilities were endless.
As for the Troll… “He basically fell onto my table,” she confirmed with a solemn nod. The other girl’s next words actually surprised a laugh out of her. “Human bludger. Seriously.” She had a vivid mental image of the boy pinballing around the room like the Quidditch ball, and decided that it felt pretty similar to her interactions with him thus far. Lemondrop. Cat rolled her eyes. “Because I was eating lemondrop ice cream when we met, I think. He actually judged my ice cream taste.” Lemondrop and cookies and cream was a perfectly normal combination, thank you very much.
She hesitated only a moment before speaking again. “A certain Head of House diagnosed him with terminal obtuseness.” Restrictions on repeating that outside of the professor’s office obviously didn’t count where best friends were concerned. “Which has sort of helped me understand him, I think. It’s like dealing with an overexcitable puppy. You know?”
