Sardines ♥ // Nomsy, yo ❄ rolling in the ink ❄ This conversation was turning out to be a little too on-the-nose for Anna. The discomfort was gnawing painfully behind her ribs, urging her to get away. It felt disconcerting for yet another stranger to be getting so close to her thoughts. It’d been happening too often since she’d been back. Perhaps that was why she left in the first place; people here were too perceptive. Too open. Back in the states, they’d been pleasantly distant.
Not commenting on simple interventions and forgiveness. Who even was this woman?
In another moment, Anna may have felt grateful for the sorely needed advice. At this moment, though, it was near terrifying. The lift felt too small. So when the display above the doors dinged and the doors opened, her smile was genuine due to the flood of relief she felt. “This is my stop then. And, you’re probably right,” she replied, “Though, Lady Grey is a bit of a fickle tea on a good day,” See? She was even joking again. “Pleasure meeting you. I didn’t catch your name?” Maybe it was a bit odd to linger now, half-out of the lift, but she had to get her name before leaving.
