Tiana had arrived with their parents and her twin a little earlier, and now stood and watched as Ty went through the measuring process. Giggling a little she called out "Did the tape just touch your hair, bro?"

When it was her time to step into the measuring area Tiana followed the tape with her eyes as it began zapping around her, and measuring her body from feet to head. When the tape measured the length between her nostrils it tickled so much that she sneezed out "Atchoooo! Oops sorry Mr Tape Sir!" Before the tape continued on it's way with measuring her arms that she held out, and ending with the width of her mouth. Why measure her mouth?
Op. That certainly drew his attention.

"Salud," he offered the girl, Victor's gaze shifting as the measuring tape recoiled just slightly before remembering its duties and finishing with a final indignant flick. "…you are being quite thorough today," he murmured, retrieving it before it could attempt a retaliatory measurement of her eyelashes.

His attention returned to the girl, offering her a fresh handkerchief in a soft verdurous green, its clean color evoking the gentle freshness of new spring leaves. "Just a moment," he smiled before turning and surveying the bottom-most row along the left side of the shop, selecting a box with deliberate care.

When he returned, he slid the lid off and offered the wand within to her.

"Let us see how you fare with this one."

He might not be curious about everything but that tape? You bet! “Has that co-worker of yours always been that bubbly about its job?’’ he asked, now watching as the man picked out a box with ease. How did he know which wand would be the potential fit for Eloy?

Nevertheless, he curbed that curiosity of his which seemed to have gone through an unexpected metamorphosis the second he had stepped into the shop. “Thanks,’’ El remarked in acceptance of the wand. “Wish me luck!’’ Knowing that it needed to be given a wave, he did just that: a graceful one from left to right.

The instantaneous result was not at all a flattering one. A LOUD wet raspberry echoed through the place causing him to freeze.

“Uh… excuse me?” Even though technically that was NOT him that had made the sound. El shook the wand then held it out. “Definitely not the one.”
"As long as I have been here,” Victor nodded, casting a glance towards the measuring tape, "it has always been… enthusiastic."

Truly groundbreaking revelations, to be sure. A measuring tape that enjoyed measuring.

Victor was trying really, really hard not to laugh. There were many sound produced during fittings, but usually those had to do with explosions and things breaking. This was a pleasant change of pace ― once he imagined several other customers would be positively enthralled with and call it a successful match.

Not the case here, obviously, and there was the faintest narrowing of his eyes as though something had been confirmed rather than surprised him.

"Nope," he chuckled, taking the wand back the moment Eloy offered it. "Certainly not."

The wand was returned to it box, which was then set down on the counter. Victor moved around to one of the stacks near the front window and retrieved a different box before returning to the boy.

"Wands, like people, don't always quite know the best way to get someone's attention or express themselves," Victor continued as he opened it, "and sometimes, if the match isn't quite right, they'll fuss or make a rude little noise—not to be unkind, but to say, 'I don’t think we quite fit.'"

So hopefully it wouldn't be taken too much to heart.

He held it out the box for another attempt.

"—but that just means you can try again."

Weird is off of my list of descriptions for it,’’ she added, shooting the tape an apologetic look. “I think your friend there is the perfect amount of attentive, and made me feel very welcome at your shop.”

As did the man himself.

Saina’s bright smile returned when he offered her the wand that could very well be hers. “Why, thank you, kind Sir.’’ The little giggle she made was followed by an audible gasp as her eyes moved to the wand sitting in the box. “It’s absolutely gorgeous!” It was lifted daintily, her fingers softly curling over the top. A gentle wave was made. Sadly, the effect was that of a disastrous nature.

A rather blinding flash of light illuminated the shop. It startled poor Sai which made her clutch the wand tightly so that angry sparks emitted from the tip. Needless to say, it was dropped immediately. “I’m sorry!” Rubbing her eyes furiously to clear them, she just didn’t have time to retrieve the object.

And she was so sad about inconveniencing the shopkeeper
"Oof. Bit like looking directly into the sun, that."

The wand was retrieved before it could roll, the last of the sparks flickering harmlessly out as it settled back into his hand. Victor's gaze snapped back to the girl, concern softening his features as he quickly checked her hands.

"No need to apologize," he assured her warmly. "These things happen at fittings — rather often, in fact. You're quite unharmed, I hope? Fingers still where they ought to be?"

The wand was, needless to say returned to its box and set on the counter.

"That one simply… spoke too loudly. Perhaps more opinionated than even the measuring tape." He selected another and returned to her. "Let's try something gentler," he said, opening the next box and offering it to her.

Tiana's giggle had him turn his head, "I sure felt it! It didn't mess up my hair, right Tiana?" It was just at the right stage of where wash and go suited it.

"Er, thanks!" The wandmaker sure seemed jolly. Though, it would make sense for someone to want to work here to be happy. "Sir, I won't tell a soul, but do you get to have a fun ride on the ladder during your breaks?" It would be something he'd do. But now he had a wand to test.

"Well, as long as you promised!" No laughing from this wand. Tyler gave it a little flick in the direction of the nearby table away from others and-

BOOM

All he saw was black smoke with the bang. He coughed until the smoke subsided. There likely was a large black spot on that table now. "Erm... sorry... that won't be added to my tab, right?" He was just a little kid, after all.
Victor’s mouth twitched, the hint of a grin escaping despite his best effort at dignity.

"Ah," he said, lowering his voice as though the shelves themselves might be listening, "strictly speaking, the ladder and I maintain a very professional relationship." He leaned in just a fraction more. "But... on particularly long afternoons, when the shop grows quiet and the wands begin whispering their travel stories… I may permit it the occasional glide or two. Purely for inspection purposes, of course."

The boom did not so much echo as detonate through the shop, rattling shelves and sending a few boxes tumbled off their stacks. Victor's gaze snapped to the table, taking in the blackened scorch mark, the lingering curl of smoke… and then, just as quickly, to boy.

"…well," he said, stepping forward to pluck the wand neatly from the boy's hand before it could attempt a second KABOOM, "that was certainly decisive."

He turned the wand once between his fingers, inspecting it for any damage or strain along the grain, then settled it back into its box.

"Not to worry," Victor added, tone easing. "Some wands are rather fond of making ... loud impressions. Not the first time for blackened spots and certainly won't be the last."

His gaze flicked briefly to the spot on the table and then back to the boy.

"And that is all that was,” he continued, already reaching for another box. "An introduction. And not a particularly polite one." Victor slid the lid of box number two and offered it. "Let's try again. Perhaps this time, we aim for something a touch less… explosive."
