The white pawn moves forward, steady and determined, and halts in C4. Then, the black queen takes its turn, shattering that very pawn into pieces.
And then the board resets again, all pieces once more restored back into their
original setup.
"Remember," the voice encourages, "you can checkmate the king in a single move."
