It had been a long, boring day already, and it seemed like it would continue that way for the rest of the day. He never knew for certain, of course - anything could happen, and maybe something would. Sometimes weird things happened, but it wasn't an everyday thing.
He had a lot to think about regarding his job, whether he wanted to apply to another position or not, but that wasn't something he wanted to dwell on right now. Right now, it was food time.
The sandwich had cooled in the time he had stood in line and made his way to an empty table. So he pulled out his wand and cast a simple warm up spell.
Whether he hadn't concentrated sufficiently enough, or if there was some other magical thing attached to the sandwich, Ezra didn't know, but the sandwich did not get warmer.
Instead, it sprouted four legs and began sprinting away, falling off the table and landing on its new feet with a quiet splat!, and racing off again.
He stared, mouth agape, struggling to process this strange and abrupt turn of events, before jumping to his feet. "Hey, wait! Come back!"
It was just one of those days when Emi felt as though they could eat everything in sight. It was why they had ordered as many snacks as the tray could fit. Then again, they could magically have extended it to carry more; the DERP receptionist didn’t think it was a good idea to overdo it as they might fall into a food coma. What a sure way to get fired, if they were found sleeping on the job.
Emily turned away from the main buffet area, every intention set on finding themself a seat. Only to be met with the most peculiar sight ever. Was… that a sandwich WITH LEGS heading their way?
What in the name of Merlin?!
Emily whipped out her wand. A quick flourish of the wand and the mutter of an incantation and… the sandwich turned into a bird. It promptly took flight, heading towards its owner. Er, the sandwich’s owner, that is.
Point to note: it wasn't their attention to turn the thing into a bird. |
