Adrian wasn't sure how he felt about the fountain. It was a beauty, but it felt too polished, too self-important. Still, it was quiet there - quieter than the corridors where the first-years were buzzing around like bees, and that was reason enough for him to cut through the common room and end up here.

There was somebody already there, however. Though he wasn't sure of her name yet, he had definitely seen her around - and the choice of her reading definitely didn't turn him away. Frankenstein. It amused him for some reason. He wasn't quite sure why though. Instead of saying anything though, he let himself drop onto the far edge of the fountain, sketchbook balanced against his knee. Pencil to paper, he let his hand move in idle strokes — not really drawing yet, just tracing lines the way he always did.

After a pause or so, his voice cut through the silence, “Frankenstein? Light reading for a quiet afternoon?” His mouth quirked, the closest he came to a smile, though it didn’t quite reach his eyes.
