Additional historical context
Growing up, Claude was quite close with his mother, but had a tumultuous relationship with his father. He entered the foster care system at age 12. From ages 12 - 15 he bounced around several group/foster homes due to instances of poor fit and behavioral trouble. At age 16 (10 months before he would start Hogwarts) he was adopted by Dante and Abraham Botros-Giordano. Due to inconsistent schooling and outstanding circumstances, Claude was held back a year and started Hogwarts as a 4th year student in Ravenclaw house.
