Once upon a time, in the bustling heart of Diagon Alley, a Louisiana belle and a Georgia gentleman collided quite literally. Emmylou Duchannes, former Gryffindor with a knack for herbology and a voice smoother than butter on a biscuit, was on a mission to buy her son Mason his first broomstick. Little did she know, her herbology books would take a tumble, and with them, her carefully guarded heart.
Enter Augustin LaFleur, the youngest of five sisters (bless him) and the only Pukwudgie in his family’s history a fact he carried like a badge of honor. Born in Covington, Georgia, Augustin had traded Southern charm for European sophistication when he moved to London for pre-healer studies and herbology. But that day in Diagon Alley, sophistication took a backseat to good ol’ Southern manners. He bent down, retrieved Emmy’s books, and flashed her a smile that could melt the frostiest of Butterbeer mugs. “Another Southerner in London?” Emmy asked, her surprise evident as she caught sight of his Ilvermorny crest. It was as if the universe had conspired to make her feel at home thousands of miles away from Louisiana.
Augustin, meanwhile, was utterly captivated. Emmy’s accent was music to his ears, her manners impeccable, and her beauty downright magical. It wasn’t long before the two were chatting like old friends though Augustin would’ve gladly spent hours listening to her talk about soil acidity if it meant staying near her.
Over the next few months, they went on dates that ranged from cozy tea shops to moonlit strolls along the Thames. Emmy couldn’t believe she was falling for someone after Kace Lecium, Mason’s father and her first love. Sure, Kace had his own special place in her heart, but Augustin was different. He didn’t just make her feel safe; he made her feel alive.
Two years flew by faster than a Firebolt, and Augustin decided it was time to make the ultimate romantic gesture. He whisked Emmy away to Paris because where else does one propose to a Southern belle who deserves nothing less than perfection? As they stood beneath the glittering Eiffel Tower on New Year’s Eve, Augustin dropped to one knee and popped the question. Emmy’s response? A resounding “Yes!” followed by tears, laughter, and possibly some French tourists applauding in the background.
Augustin wasn’t about to cut corners for their wedding. Oh no, this was going to be an event worthy of both their sprawling families. The date was set: December 31st, 2099, a New Year’s Eve extravaganza that would rival any wizarding ball Hogwarts had ever seen.
On the big day, Emmy stepped into her dream gown, a stunning ballgown with lace sleeves and delicate tulle roses adorning the top layer. Her heels were satin white with lilac roses on the back, adding just the right touch of whimsy. Her maid of honor, Cinna (practically her sister in everything but blood), wore a regal purple gown that complemented Emmy’s lilac theme perfectly. Lux and Nora rounded out the bridal squad in matching lilac dresses, while Mason stole hearts as the adorable ring bearer and Zoe charmed everyone as the flower girl.
Augustin didn’t disappoint either. He donned a lilac tuxedo with a tan bow tie that somehow managed to look both dashing and endearing. His groomsmen followed suit in medium purple tuxes with lilac ties because coordination is key when you’re marrying a woman who knows her way around color palettes.
The ceremony was equal parts emotional and enchanting. Emmy’s Uncle Cam walked her down the aisle like the father figure he’d always been to her, a role he took as seriously as a dragon tamer handling baby Norbert. The vows were heartfelt, the tears genuine, and the magic palpable.
The reception? Oh, it was a party for the ages. Guests danced until their feet hurt, laughed until their cheeks ached, and toasted until the champagne ran dry. Mason beamed as Augustin introduced him as his son during a touching speech that left not a dry eye in the room. Emmy’s heart swelled with gratitude, not just for Augustin’s love but for his acceptance of Mason as part of their new family.
As midnight struck and fireworks lit up the sky outside, Emmy and Augustin shared their first New Year’s kiss as husband and wife, a moment so perfect it could’ve been plucked straight from a romance novel.
And so began their happily ever after a life filled with love, laughter, and probably more herbology books than either of them could count. Stay tuned for tales of their magical children and even more Southern charm!
