Mary-Lou sighed. “That’s the place—I’ll never remember the name.” She then heard the older girl’s name: Aurora. That was a pretty name, though she wondered how she was supposed to remember it. “I’m Mary-Louise, but everyone calls me Mary-Lou.”
Without waiting for an invitation, Mary-Lou plonked herself down beside the older girl. Hadn’t she said she could tell her more about Hogwarts?
“I’m Muggle-born, you see—that’s what the person called me when they told me I was a witch.” She lowered her voice to a whisper, as if afraid someone nearby might laugh at her. She wasn’t sure whether Aurora would make fun of her or not. “So… this Hogwarts— it’s definitely a school for witches and wizards?” Mary-Lou whispered the last part again before quickly adding, “It’s not a joke, right?”
