Xerxes thought about his answer before raising his hand and saying, "Her father's peculiar views certainly had an influence on Luna's beliefs. Most people tend to parrot their parents beliefs, at the very least for their childhood years. If she had been raised by a different family, she would probably have believed the things that the other family believes in."
Xerxes didn't particularly know a lot about the unconventional beliefs to which his Professor was referring to. But in general, he believed what he said about children and their parent's beliefs.
Xerxes own parents had certain beliefs and convictions. They believed in an intersectional approach to magic. They often drew on many different magical customs, cultures, differences in practice. And Xerxes had been raised with all of these beliefs in mind. He certainly had his own mind and own ideas, but his parents had certainly been an influence.
