As for Tiffany’s wave, Ary’s Housemate received his signature finger wiggle-wave.

Oh, look at that. They needn’t wait forever to find out what was in the boxes. Ary learned forward eagerly, peering into the one on the table he sat at. He thought the jewelry was nice to look at, and he recognised the coin easily. Yet it was the glasses that gave the answer - the figure they’d be focusing on - away.

“Those items belonged to Luna Lovegood,’’ the guy told Jan and Rory confidently. He picked up his quill thoughtfully. What he really wanted to know was if these items truly belonged to Luna and how Amstern had come to access them. For now, Ary wrote Luna’s name in capital letters then underlined it. “Aside from the coin being a method of communication from Dumbledore’s Army, I think that maybe it would have been important since it reminded her of that time. Perhaps she enjoyed being a part of the group very much?” He fell silent now, offering his friends a chance to pitch in with their thoughts.
Vashti made her rounds about the room as the discussion and the writing began. Soon, she drew near to this group’s table, and she nodded approvingly at Mr. Atreyu-Rehman’s insight about the coin. Good thinking.

Xerxes was not entirely familiar with Wizarding History, you see. He had studied Greek History and, more thoroughly, Greek Mythology; but had never taken an overt interest in the History of Magic. Sure, he knew a few key dates and facts from his parents, but they were probably the sorts of things that everyone would know: common knowledge, as they say.

Xerxes would have to figure this mystery out another way. He had a secret weapon in his back pocket (not literally of course). He reached down for his school bag and took out a small leather pouch, which was filled with small stones and smooth pebbles. He also extracted a plain wooden cup. Putting the stones into the cup, he began to swirl the stones clockwise with his dominant hand. He then, in one motion, turned the cup over and gently strew the stones over the table.

Once he put the cup down, he closed his eyes and focused on the items in question. He then, eyes still shut tight, placed his hands about two inches above the scattered stones and moved them left and right over the pebbles. He listened attentively for any trace of ancient magic; any whisper from the Greater Universe being sent to him on a chariot of cosmic rays.

He suddenly opened his eyes. His answer had formed in his mind's eye, and he better write it down lest it disappear back into the abyss. His (left) hand scrawled the name: Luna Lovegood.

Setting down his quill, Xerxes raised his hand and asked, "Professor, does the name Luna Lovegood mean anything to you?"
Vashti observed Mr. Cadwallader's process with curiosity, choosing not to interrupt. Interesting, indeed. "It does. Certainly a relevant name in history," she replied. "What does it mean to you?"

And now the allotted time had passed, so it was time to continue on with the lesson.

“Excellent work so far, everyone,” Vashti said as she returned to the front of the room. ”As many of you correctly figured out, these items are replicas of ones that belonged to Luna Lovegood.” With a flick of her wand, the name appeared on the board. “I wanted us to begin with some things that were more personal to her, to guide us in our efforts to understand her as a person. Sometimes it can be difficult to put oneself into the mindset of a person that lived a long time ago, especially one who was born more than a century ago, but understanding things that they cared about can help us in getting one step closer to understanding them.

“So, to continue onward, let’s discuss what else we know about Luna Lovegood, whether it's about her accomplishments, the historical events she took part in, or something else about her life. You may refer to your textbook for this, if you wish, but please try to stick to one fact in your answer.”
There were many things that could be said about Luna, after all.
