Next, after writing down the notes on the charm on his parchment JT got to work on practicing the incantation for the subtracting charm which to him sounded like a mouthfull when from Prof Feirgrund had prounounced it. "O-doo-zee-man-ti... O-doo-zee-man-ti... O-doo-zee-man-ti..." JT practiced in a low voice to himself over and over. He also practiced the simple minus wand movement in the air with his now unholstered wand. When he felt he got the hand of it JT focused on the first eraser tracing the small line in the air over the eraser as he casted in a firm tone "Oduzimanti!" Watching the eraser dissapear he gave himself a silent thumbs up before trying to erase the remaining four erasers too. He glanced around at his peers work before refocusing again and in quick succession he made his remaining erasers disspear. Raising a hand JT asked "Professor Feirgrund does the subtraction spell work best on small objects like erasers or could it work on big objects too?" "Good question, Master Forsfelle," Ean said. "In theory, depending on the caster's skill, one can use it on duplicated objects as large as a statue when supplemented with Maxima," Adding, "The downside of course is the heavier the mass of the object, the greater the energy is depleted from the caster. But for the regular Subtracting charm, at best, you could deplete up to the size of a duplicate pillow." Alas, it was time to begin the main activity.
"Excellent, everyone." Addressing the class, "Do not worry if you haven't managed to subtract the erasers. You are welcome to continue working on them as the board will keep the information for the duration of the lesson." Waiting until everyone's attention remained on him before he walked over to where the tarp laid. "Beneath this tarp is where the main fun will begin," With a couple of strokes with his wand, Feirgrund then removed the tarp reveal a ball pit. "In the spirit of the upcoming holiday there are some valentine-heart shaped boxed filled with some treats usually found in Honeydukes." Compliments to them. "The main objective is to use the Subtracting charm to deplete the amount of balls in the pit. You could dive in to try to find the box, but it'll be hard to see what you collect without using the charm. Do your best at depleting some within your vision until you've gotten a box."
"Once you're ready, go on, jump in, and have a ball!" Feirgrund smiled, "And you are free to work with a partner." Especially, if the younger ones might need help with removing the charms. OOC: Thank you waiting, everyone! You now have the opportunity to use the Subtracting Charm in the ball pit to help you find the box of sweets. You're also welcome to continue working on the erasers if unsuccessful. If you're just arriving, it's okay, you can join in as you've always been here. The activity will last around 72 hours from now. If you have any questions feel to ask. |
