Background

Elena and Alexei were born via a surrogate on a leap year, 29 February 2104, to their parents Oliver and Dragomir Petrov. They were named after their grandparents, Oliver’s parents, who died when Oliver was less than a year old. When the twins were young, Oliver and Dragomir adopted Juniper Finn Petrov as a teenager from Stemp House, where Oliver was working at the time. Elena loves all of her family members fiercely, including her extended family, but especially Alexei, her twin, ride or die, partner in crime, best friend, and most important person in her world.

Growing up, Elena and Alexei were always supported in all of their endeavors. Elena enjoyed watching her tátko dance on TV, and always tried her best to copy him. From a young age, she started dance lessons at a local studio, where she would frequently brag to her classmates that her tátko was a famous dancer. She enjoys all kind of dancing, but has gravitated towards ballet, and has been in winter productions of The Nutcracker (as a rat and a party kid). She had also tried out theater. Her dad Oliver frequently volunteers at their local theater with set design, often bringing the rest of the family along to help. Most recently, Elena was in the ensemble for a production of Oliver! She is slightly disappointed that being at Hogwarts will mean she will be unable to be in the running for the role of Clara this winter, but her excitement at starting her first year has mostly overshadowed any disappointment (for now).
