Surreal didn't begin to describe how it felt to be back at Hogwarts. There were so many memories tied to this place, great and horrific and everything in between. Time had a way of bringing healing and making peace with past tragedies. Spending the last few weeks getting settled and making sure everything was ready for her first year as a professor here had been helpful as well.

And so it was with a smile that Vashti arrived at the table for the Start of Term Feast. "Good evening," she greeted each of her colleagues who had arrived ahead of her. She took her seat and spared a quick glance at the Ravenclaw table to see if she could spot her grandson sitting amongst his housemates, before she turned her focus to the Sorting Ceremony.
