His childhood, steeped in both Muggle and wizarding traditions, fostered a deep reverence for the land and all living things. At Ilvermorny, where he was sorted into Thunderbird, he thrived in the open air, developing a bond with magical creatures that would shape his life's path. Santiago spent decades working as a naturalist and magizoologist, building a life among beasts of all shapes and sizes, across the Americas, where he forged a reputation for his empathy, daring nature, and unshakable field sense. His journeys eventually brought him home again to the United States where he now teaches Creature Care, hoping to connect younger generations with creatures while nurturing their skills and sense of wonder.
