"From that point, I've just been focusing on myself and letting her do her thing. And she's just continued hanging out with him. This was the first time I think we looked in each other's direction in weeks." He shook his head at how he may have sounded as he glanced back at their tea. He considered taking a sip, but didn't want to drag out what he really wanted to say to Emma.

"To be frank, as you know, I'm not that big on sharing my feelings, at least not with someone who doesn't look like they'd give the time of day. Why waste their time? But I don't feel like that with you..." Looking up again into her eyes. "I just hope you don't consider me a waste of space, it would suck if I didn't get to ask you to be my only girlfriend." And there it was, his question left in the void of silence... if one were to ignore the sound of two girls comparing each other's lipgloss in the corner.

Emma had a million thoughts running through her head but she was also terribly naive when it came to all things relationships. Sometimes she wished she'd been born with more of that Slytherin spirit of her father and brother. Or even a Ravenclaw like her mum. Instead she was Hufflepuff, which also meant she was willing to hear people out, empathize. Even if it didn't lead anywhere romantically she was the friend to always be there - probably even after she overstayed her welcome.

She nodded when he said basically their relationship had been on the brink of ending since start of term. But then there was something else and she wondered what she was getting herself into. He mentioned a date in the forest, which she could only assume to be the forbidden forest. Was there another forest at Hogwarts? She took a sip of tea, following his lead, trying to piece things all together.

"Just to be clear -- I don't think im the type of girl to go on dates in the forest." Actually she was nearly certain she wasn't. But she'd never been on a proper date before, so who knew? "And well I'm also not much of a studier. Although with OWLs fast approaching I probably should get on that. Last thing I would need is my seeker position jeopardized because i failed to pass enough exams." Who knew when she'd become so quidditch focused? Just two years ago she'd never have imagined it although the thought had crossed her mind before. That was about one of the few traits she shared with her father.
