He was grateful though that this Rose witch was fairly attractive - of course there really weren't any unattractive people at Hogwarts. It was probably a prerequisite or something. He was also appreciative that she was close to his age, as opposed so some fawning pre-teen. That she was a Gryffindor made things intriguing as well, because as a contemplative Ravenclaw, he enjoyed the workings of people who were different from him. He was curious though why she thought he was a gryffindor? Surely if they were the same house, she ought to have recognized him, which she didn't appear to have. Suddenly he questioned the compatibility of this match, but he would see this date through even if it didn't lead anywhere after the afternoon.

"Not in the least. Although when we -- my sister and I were sorted six years ago -- we thought I might go Gryffindor, but thankfully the hat decided to place two Joshi's in Ravenclaw. Probably thought we'd get too competitive if we were in different houses," he grinned. Little did the hat know, competitive drive ran strong in their bloodline regardless of house. But at least their competitiveness wasn't directed at each other so much and had the same end goal.

"Not been in the shack, but i don't believe it's as haunted as it seems. From reading history books, it got its name from a werewolf that used to reside here on full moon transformations like a century or so ago. Made it kind of a safe haven so he wouldn't harm anyone." This was why reading history was important. "But if you don't want to explore it, we can do something else. What's your favorite wizarding beverage? Pumpkin fizz? Gillywater? Something else?" Beverage of choice was a good way to learn about someone.
One good thing was that Kartik was close to her age, even if they weren't in the same year or as it appeared house. It would have been a lot harder if the guy she had been paired with had been a first year for this date. Okay, stay positive Rose told herself, this dating thing could still go well.

Feeling her face heat up just a little by feeling ashamed for thinking he was a Gryffindor when he clearly wasn't a good start. Oh fiddlesticks... "I, erm...I'm sorry, I didn't think longer than my nose. So Ravenclaw, do you think the hat sorted you into the right house in the end?" Or did he still think he'd have fitted better into Gryffindor?

Hearing that the shack used to be a sanctuary for a werewolf during his monthly transformations, made it feel a little less haunted and scary to go inside. Taking a step toward the shack Rose said to Kartik trying to sound brave and curious as she tugged at his hand. [b["Let's go inside and explore. Maybe we'll find some clues as to who that werewolf was and if the story is true."

Waalking up the steps to the shack Rose paused to contemplate Kartik's question. "My favourite wizarding beverage is a tie between pumpkin fizz and butterbeer. What's your favourite wizarding beverage? And also favourite creature?"
