Justus chanced his look in her direction, watching her expressions for a clue on what was the best thing for him to do. Stay and take the punishment? Excuse himself and get up like a coward. Or save her the trouble and walk away letting her find someone better, with him being the lone wolf that he wondered was Merlin's fate for him. Instead, she took him by surprise with giving him a chance. This was definitely the moment on what could happen next. He fought the urge to smile when she said she liked him, but she deserved the truth.

"Officially? I think that just about sealed our relationship." Justus said, his eyes glancing sideways out of his inner feelings. "As for when we stopped feeling like a couple? Ever since the school term started..." He paused for a few milliseconds out of reflecting, his hands moving to clutch the tea cup presented to them. "I've never been into sharing a girl, from how often Kritti and that Dio had been studying together alone. Our last date together in the forest last month, he followed us and started screaming at me about the safety when he found us." Though, Justus wasn't going to admit their date risked detention and their own lives. Especially when they were found hanging upside down. "From that point, I've just been focusing on myself and letting her do her thing. And she's just continued hanging out with him. This was the first time I think we looked in each other's direction in weeks." He shook his head at how he may have sounded as he glanced back at their tea. He considered taking a sip, but didn't want to drag out what he really wanted to say to Emma.

"To be frank, as you know, I'm not that big on sharing my feelings, at least not with someone who doesn't look like they'd give the time of day. Why waste their time? But I don't feel like that with you..." Looking up again into her eyes. "I just hope you don't consider me a waste of space, it would suck if I didn't get to ask you to be my only girlfriend." And there it was, his question left in the void of silence... if one were to ignore the sound of two girls comparing each other's lipgloss in the corner.
