Or lose them forever.
After tickling the pear, he entered in and went straight towards the pantry. He nodded at the elves, letting them know that he was making something and didn't need help. What was he going to make? Delicious drinks, of course. Taking the cans of strawberry powder with the familiar rabbit on the can. It was Nesquik time.
Every day apart from Paul had been a torture for Id but had been determined to keep some space between them. Firstly, he needed to wrap his head around all the things Paul had said about him. It had broken his heart and Id had lay many nights in bed thinking that his best friend hated him. But as the days went by it became obvious that Paul was regretful and so Id had told Jan that he was ready to talk to him. He could see that his brother was reluctant but Id had simply hugged him and told him he’d be okay.
And knowing that his own feelings were more than platonic thanks to a question Jan had asked him last summer, plus the extra time he’d had to reflect in the past weeks, Id solemnly faced Paul. He wasn’t sure what to say so he mostly stayed quiet, letting Paul spill his words. The words had been a bit jumbled but Id let it slide. The fact that Paul was trying to make things right was enough for him. What shocked him the most though, was that kiss. It came out of nowhere, leaving Id’s heart racing. Why was that Hufflepuff intent on confusing him? The Gryffindor remained rooted on the spot watching Paul dash off in the direction of the kitchen. Or his common room. Id hoped it was the former because after some time, he followed.
His heart was still thumping when he entered the kitchen, when he, much to his relief, saw Paul there. Id still wasn’t sure what to say for once. He didn't even know if Paul wanted to talk about what had just happened. “Need some help?” he asked after a minute. |
