Scene 2:
July of 2115: Daf has a furry surprise for Hartley when he returns home.

A very hyper cruppy
He glanced at the clock. Hartley would be home any minute, and Daf was still trying to work out the perfect way to introduce their newest furry family member. He had pictured something romantic—a ribbon around its neck, maybe, and Hartley walking in to see the cruppy sitting obediently on a cushion. Instead, the cruppy had decided to chew the ribbon and bark at its own reflection in the mirror.
Dafydd crouched in the spare bedroom, desperately trying to keep the excitable young crup from barking its tiny head off. The fork-tailed puppy, with its soft caramel fur and mischievous brown eyes, had already chewed through the corner of one of Hartley's old cardboard boxes. It wasn't a disaster—not yet, anyway.
"You've got to calm down, you little tornado," he whispered with a grin, stroking its floppy ears. "You're supposed to be a surprise, not an alarm bell." The cruppy squirmed, its two tails wagging furiously like miniature feather dusters before it barked again and started chasing after its tails.
"Alright, alright," Dafydd muttered, reaching behind to grab a squeaky toy in an attempt to redirect the pup's endless energy. The toy let out a shrill squeak, and the cruppy immediately pounced when it was tossed across the room. Dafydd rolled his eyes. "Merlin, you're going to give me away." He cast a quick Muffliato charm around the room to dampen the noise, just in case Hartley came through the door early.
