Gillyweed's excitement grew as Professor Cole unveiled the larger dye tubs, each brimming with colors derived from the plants they'd so carefully selected. Rather than reaching for one of the scarves he provided, Gilly instead opened her messenger bag, pulling out the white shirt she'd brought along, now destined to become a wearable display of the dyes she had made. She held it up for a moment, considering where each color might go, already seeing the rich, contrasting patterns in her mind.

Starting with the deep purple Shrivelfig dye, she dipped the bottom hem, watching with satisfaction as the rich hue crept upwards. The colour was even bolder than she'd envisioned, and she gently swirled the fabric to ensure an even saturation, enjoying the way the fruit's essence soaked into the fabric. The purple would serve as a strong base for the rest of her design.

Next, Gilly turned to her Moly dye, the metallic gold she hadn't anticipated but now saw as perfect for accenting the shirt. She carefully unwrapped the shirt and decided to use the Moly dye to form metallic rings against the purple, figuring its shimmering gold would add a vibrant contrast against the Shrivelfig's boldness. She dipped the shirt into her second bucket with intention, adding splashes of gold throughout the shirt, imitating bursts of light as if the shirt held tiny stars.

When she held up her finished shirt, her eyes widened with satisfaction as she took in the vibrant bands of colour layered together. Carefully, she laid the shirt nearby to dry. With time still left in the class, Gilly glanced over to the tubs of dyes Professor Cole had set up, each one brimming with hues she hadn't tried yet. She chose one of the scarves he had offered and arranged it in a folded, twisted pattern before dipping the scarf lightly into the red, green, and blue buckets.
