She might join a meeting or two, but she didn't want to go if everyone there hated her and wanted to hex her or turn her into a frog, okay? It was unclear where she'd gotten that idea, but she was a big worrier. She most likely made it up all by herself, but it COULD happen.
Phoebe relaxed just a little, feeling bad that she was judging Professor Khanna when they were only being nice to her. "...It's not sad, I'm fine. It's whatever, probably nobody will reply and I'll never find her." AKA Phoebe was really sad about this and was hoping that somebody would know something about where her friend went. Um... "Her name is Aaliyah and she's my age. And she has dark skin, hair, and eyes. Um, and she really smiled a lot but I don't know, maybe she doesn't smile anymore times. Um, and my friend's sibling said that she may sort of look like this sketch on the poster now, but I'm not really sure. And-" Phoebe perked up, feeling encouraged by this next tidbit. "She really liked rocks and dinosaurs. That's important, right?" Phoebe felt that Aaliyah probably still really liked rocks and dinosaurs, and that that might help find her.
...maybe. "Also she's a pureblood, like me. So that's why I thought she might go here or to another wizarding school."
Yes, they did make some great points, didn’t they? It came with the experience of having many years of teaching under their belt. “Think? I know you will, Ms. Calypso. Oftentimes, I’ll pair a student with another based on their age. It usually varies by one year, either higher or lower, mostly to match your study level and experiences with spells. That way, each student can help each other improve, and many times, they strike up a great friendship. Of course, if this turns out to be the opposite, pairs can be swapped.” Dhruv ensured their Club was more than just a place where students went to practice.
The professor regarded Phoebe calmly. They were sure it was a sad event but did not push the Hufflepuff. “Or maybe you’ll find her and you’ll have your friend back,’’ they said gently. It could happen… but first, Aaliyah needed to be found. Phoebe knew a lot about her friend, which was great. Dhruv could completely understand wanting to and needing to reconnect with a friend. They would have felt the same way if they had lost Jericho or Grayson, their closest friends from their Hogwarts student days. “I don’t think I’ve seen her here.” And they would know since they were a professor. “But that’s no reason to be discouraged; someone else might know her. It’s a good start to deduce that she may attend a wizarding school, and every bit of information you have on her will be helpful.” They stepped out of the way. “You should put that poster up now.” Dhruv paused then added, “I’ll be sure to mention this to the other professors.” |
