Perhaps she was confusing to him because she wasn't asking about how often he visited the kitchens. She was merely surprised when there were others who visited the kitchens and appeared kind enough to chat with the house elves. "There is no problem," she shook her head, clearly amused by his anxiety. "You're not in trouble. It's not as if it's after bedtime hours."
"Okay that looks delicious and I was actually just coming to the kitchen to see if I could fix myself something. Perhaps you'd like advise me for what to put on a sandwich?" She asked cautiously. "Unless of course you have somewhere else to be, but I don't mind the company." She wasn't going to take it though and she should probably reassure him of such. "I'm not going to take it though. You impressed the elves enough to give you some food, it would be rude of me to take that."
