She seldom felt she did however, only perhaps when she was feeling protective or if someone really rubbed her up the wrong way. The majority of the time she was that sweet, bubbly, daycare worker who kids seemed to adore. It would take a lot to intimidate this woman and unfortunately (even with the potential voice modulation) she’d likely be able to tell it was Matty simply from the body language. Better luck next time.

“I suppose if you are that starving I could maybe spare one she teased, offering out the brown paper bag that contained a couple of Danish’s for Matty to pick from. “Just know that I spent my hard earned wages on these.” The cheek kiss was met by a soft smile and a squeeze of the hand. “She’s quite small but don’t let that fool you. She WAS a Gryffindor after all and believe me you wouldn’t want to mess with those..” Allie laughed. It was true though, everyone assumed the Slytherins were the intimidating ones but the Gryffindors were the ones to truly watch and she could say that as a former Lion herself.

“You’ll have to come visit the Ministry one day and we can grab lunch in the cafeteria. It’s not half bad actually.” Not like what she assumed Muggle school dinners were like. They’d obviously been truly spoiled at Hogwarts with their cuisine. “The children are particularly loud today, I thought my eardrums were going to explode. But I adore my job, I just wish there might’ve been a little more progression, do you get what I mean?” She’d be kind of.. stuck. There was the idea that it would only be a temporary solution until she found something a little more relevant but that was for future her to decide. As for putting in a good word? “Unfortunately I haven’t met him, I’ve barely met anyone. We’re all kind of segregated into our departments.” At least she was seeing as her job was a little different to everyone else’s and was more of a service than an office based job.
Matty bowed her head. “Why thank you kind, Miss.” She stuck her hand into the paper bag to take a delicious looking pastry. “I'll return the favour and more.” She promised with a smile. Although pastries did take a LOT of beating. She had to laugh at Allie's playfulness. How lucky had she been to find someone as like minded as herself. The bonus being that the pair had been best friends at school for years before deciding there was more there. It was probably the scariest time of Matty's life when she realised she had feelings for the tall, blonde, supermodel-esque woman. But her Gryffindor had shone through, and here they were today. Planning for a wedding. “Ah, Gryffindors are the WORST.” She retorted. “Far too many white knights white knighting.” That made sense, right? It did in the ditzy brunette's head.

She nodded at the invitation to visit the ministry and get a feel for the place. Next job fair, Matilda intended on applying for a position there. Whether she had enough experience yet to get the job she wanted remained to be seen.. but she had to, at least, try.

“That's kids for you.”
Loud, that is. And excitable. Shame about the lack of progression. “Do you think things will change? I know exactly what you mean. The old couple who I work for are great and everything, but I know I'll not be moving up the ladder any time soon.” Or ever. “...Unless one of them dies.” She wrinkled her nose. “But then it would still be the same old, same old.. except I'd be paid more.”

Which would be fantastic for a whole wedding to pay for in the near future. Not the death part—the money part. Speaking of weddings.. “I know you love to look at wedding mags, so I brought a whole pile for you.” Not stolen from an office waiting room at all. She dug in her small handbag which was charmed to hold more and pulled them out, dumping them on the bench between she and Allie. “To work, my love.” A cheeky grin for her partner.
