Kenneth saw no need for any apology. Cautiously, Kenneth took the top book from his stack and held it out towards the boy. A peace offering, one might say. It was his library voice, which he used any time he was in a room of books, even though this room was not a library.

Roman would have admitted that a library voice was his always voice, but soon enough this boy might notice that. He stopped, like prey caught in a headlight, and turned to look at the book. The eleven-year-old saw it almost as a peace offering, though there had never been strife to begin with.

He took the book and nodded. "S-sure," he said as she stepped back towards the stack of books and the boy. "Are you going to buy all these?" he asked curiously as he nodded at the stack. "I'm looking for murder mysteries," he admitted as he flipped through the book he now held. It didn't seem like a murder mystery, but it was interesting nonetheless. "And preferably written by a witch or wizard. I'm tired of muggle stories." The intrigue was there, but he found himself thinking of all the ways magic could solve muggle storylines.

Though, muggles DID write about magic a fair amount. Their ideas and creativity really showed in that regard, and he supposed a muggle murder mystery that still contained magic in some way was acceptable. He'd even take superpower ones. That almost counted as magic, right?
