However, that number 29 six-lettered across? It had to be plimpy. Ascella was sure of it. She was confident with her knowledge on water creatures.
Putting the newspaper back down, her attention was taken by another person to her side. Ascella turned to face the other kid, whom she was certain was around her age, give or take. "Hi." The eleven year old greeted in return, offering them a smile. "I was looking for a book to read...nothing in particular. But I got distracted." She gestured at the newspaper. No worries, it was a nice distraction. She enjoyed crosswords, especially when she was answering them with her parents at home.
Ascella noticed the other kid's shirt as well. "Do you know their kids are going to Hogwarts this September?" She found it so interesting and exciting, getting to start Hogwarts with the Grimaldi children. The Grimgang. A bunch of children she'd only ever seen in newspapers and magazines, all about to attend the same school she was heading off to soon. Ascella knew a few of Grimoire's songs as well, contrary to (probably) popular belief that she only listened to classical music. Pretty sure her dad wanted an autograph, too, if she thought of it. The other one had freckles. Des was staring, trying to connect them like a constellation. "you know birth marks are the wounds from where we died in our past lives. What's that mean freckles are?" They wondered aloud, toying again with the hole in their shirt. The fabric there was rougher and frayed and felt good against Des' hands and fingers. "I was going to look for a book while my brother was busy but I don't think I'll look anymore." They were more interested in this conversation and this older child. "Whose kids? Lots of kids are going to Hogwarts this year. I'm going. You're going." It was a quick assumption and though there was no evidence to properly back this up, Des felt very sure of it. Somethings just seemed right and others just seemed wrong. This just seemed right. They turned away from the other kid, looking instead the books on the shelf as if they held value- at this moment they didn't.
