Seeing Eli's face alight and full of wonder and they had BONDED. Over DRAGONS. It had been the best time of Ezra's life.

Ezra also loved spending time with Unky Nathan. He had taught him the piano from a young age and he loved to look at his collection of muggle artefacts. It was all so fascinating. Another world that the Greenwoods liked to shut themselves away from.

Yes, Elias, they HAD to look at brooms. “Yes but I have savings. I can use my own money to get one.” Ezra, despite his young age, was responsible in a lot of ways. You had to be growing up in that environment. And he made sure to save some of his pocket money every week. He'd even put aside that little bit of money Nathan had given them as a treat while they were away on holiday. “And don't you want a pet for a school? We're allowed to take one and mum said it would be okay.”

Ezra turned to leave and was almost swept over by a cloud of hair that whooshed passed him. He gave her a sweet smile. He looked back at Eli and tried to give him the 'Eli warning look', but failed and just looked bewildered. 'Don't start anything, you!'

He dashed out into the street to search for the shopping list. Right and left, high and low. ...And then remembered he was wearing his backpack. He opened it. And there, sitting right on the top, was the now creased parchment.

Oh Eli would be pleased!

He ran back into Flourish and Blotts brandishing it in his little hand like a trophy. “I FOUND IT!”

Tah dah!

Who said life wasn’t easy?

It was very easy when you came from a wealthy, well respected family and couldn’t ask for anything. Except maybe the love and appreciation of certain older members of the family but that was a whole discussion for another date. Greenwoods took life with the confidence and swagger of someone who oozed power, not act all childish over trivial things.

With the exception of Dragons, he could easily find himself excited over those.

“You’re TWELVE, they’re not going to let you on the Quidditch pitch.” Who on earth would want to anyway, Quidditch was such a pointless game with no real sense of accomplishment. Not like Wizards Chess which used strategy and intelligence. “Brooms should be used for sweeping and not flying.” Honestly what was wrong with the other, less dangerous modes of transport? As for a pet, that would mean that Eli would have to look after it and feed it and groom it and do whatever else pets needed and not rely on someone else to do all that for you. Do things for others wasn’t his forte. “Maybe a toad.” he replied. Perhaps then others wouldn’t try to strike up conversations with him over a cute and fluffy pet. “I’ll call it Ezra.” Then, as a reminder that he WAS in fact eleven years old and not the grumpy old man he sometimes resembled, his tongue poked out at his brother.

Elias didn’t intentionally try to start anything but sometimes his opinion just HAD to be known. He couldn’t help that his face often showed what he was feeling too and that it offended people. Unfortunately Eli’s peace and quiet didn’t last too long as Ezra returned within a few minutes spouting that he’d managed to find the list.

“Congratulations” he replied sarcastically resisting the urge to roooooooll his eyes.
