Moritz - more commonly referred to as "Moe" by almost everyone he knows, including his family - was born on March 3rd, 2095 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was the first born child of Tucker and Isabelle Schultz, and the first in the set of twins to be born (a full five minutes before his brother, thank you very much). His name is a traditional German name that was actually the name of Tucker's father, who had passed away when he was a young child, and since Moe was born first, he received the honor of being named after his late grandfather.

Despite both Isabelle and Tucker being native Brits, the Schultz family was living in the US while Tucker worked at Ilvermorny. However, when an opportunity to enter the cursebreaking world in England presented itself, Tucker and Isabelle moved the family back to London when Moe was 4 years old, shortly after the birth of their sister Nancy. When Moe was 7, their parents divorced. They remained good friends and co-parented as best they could, but it was hard having split holidays and growing up bouncing back and forth between households. Part of the struggle revolved around the two very different parenting styles they had. Isabelle is very hands off, wanting her children to be free spirits and discover who they are with as little influence as possible from the outside world. She is almost TOO lenient, letting her children get away with most things and enforcing very little in the way of punishment. Tucker, on the other hand, is much stricter, mostly in part due to his own upbringing being raised by a single mother. He believes he needs to push them in order to succeed, and one needs to be a parent to their children, not a friend.

In spite of all this, Moe felt very loved by both of his parents, and as of his sixth year, neither of his parents have remarried. He continues to live primarily with his mum, but visits his dad quite often during holiday breaks.

At the age of 11, just like his peers, Moritz and Joseph were sent off to Hogwarts. As much as he wanted to be in the same house as his twin, he knew they were two different people and wasn't surprised when he ended up in Ravenclaw, and Joseph ended up in Slytherin. The twins are not identical, and aside from their looks - they don't have much else in common, much to Moe's disappointment. He tries to navigate and strengthen the relationship between him and his twin without much success, primarily because he is unaware of any of the struggles Joseph is going through mentally and emotionally. It probably doesn't help that he assumes Joseph just wants nothing to do with him, and sometimes he'll egg him on just for kicks like calling him Joey just to get a rise out of him.

The family currently resides in Brixton, South London, United Kingdom. Both Isabelle and Tucker live in the same neighborhood, making commuting between their parents houses very easy.

Quite frankly, Moe isn't your average Ravenclaw bookworm....actually, no, no, that's a lie. Despite his insistence that he ISN'T a typical 'Claw, he very much is. He gets good grades without doing much work, and is always looking for something new to research to fuel his need to be constantly learning. He is more drawn to the practical part of being a Ravenclaw. He prides himself on being realistic, examining all sides of a problem before coming to a conclusion, even if it's not necessarily the one he wanted or the outcome he wished for. He is very analytical, unless a problem is dropped on him suddenly, in which case he tends to panic and sometimes make not so great decisions.

A lifetime of considering himself superior due to being the oldest child, the "smarter" twin (he can't help that people just ASSUMED that when they heard he was sorted into Ravenclaw) and the more likable twin (again, other people's words, not his!) have led to a bit of an inflated ego for Moe. It often takes a lot of self reflection to realize if he is to blame for a situation, and he'll sometimes fall into a habit of looking for fault in others before himself.

His biggest flaw is being too hard on himself, especially when it comes to things that are extremely important to him. He can very easily lose himself in studying or practicing quidditch, to the point where he actually hurt himself one summer because he was so exhausted and over-worked. Months of pushing himself to work out multiple times a day and getting little sleep caused him to slip up during a game, resulting in a nasty bludger hit that broke multiple bones in his wrist. He was unable to get on a broom at all for the better part of the school year due to crippling anxiety and panic attacks once he got in the air. This left him understandably frustrated and he nearly broke a toe after taking out his anger on the broom shed door near the pitch. After much physical therapy and appointments with a psychiatrist to work out his anxiety issues, he was able to practice again and get back in shape for the coming U-17 season.

The biggest cause for this need for perfection? Definitely his grandmother, Gabriela Recard. A former Hogwarts professor, Gabi has always had high expectations for her family and her son, Tucker. Tucker's fear of disappointing his mother makes him buckle any time she makes a "kind" suggestion regarding his children and how he is raising them. The trickle down effect has definitely had an impact on Moe, who feels he has to be achieving good grades, being successful in his extra-circulars, and be well liked and popular in order to be accepted by the matriarch of the family. Although as he gets older, he pushes the boundaries a bit with his gran, doing things deliberately against her will to try and push back against the pressure she puts on them - like wearing an emoji t-shirt gifted to him by a certain Latina Gryffindor to Christmas dinner, for instance.

A natural born extrovert, Moe is usually pretty outgoing and often strikes up a conversation with whoever is nearby. His favorite topics of conversation are Quidditch, potions, and whatever new Wizard Rock band is currently up and coming on the scene. Quidditch is Moe's passion and his ultimate goal in life is to become a Quidditch star. However, if those don't work out, he will happily fall back on a career in potions or modeling.

-Despite being born in Boston, Massachusetts, Moe has a South London accent since they moved back to the UK when he was younger. He holds dual citizenship, as do Joseph and Nancy (the younger set of twins were born in the UK)
-Is NOT a fan of his name, which makes him feel ungrateful because he knows how special the name is to his dad - but he always felt out of place compared to the relatively 'normal' names of his siblings
-Has no problem introducing himself as the OLDEST Schultz child and he won't let you forget it.
-When it comes to Quidditch, his primary position is Chaser but has known to dabble in seeker as well.
-Plays piano, having taken lessons since he was six.
-Did competitive swimming until he was twelve and still maintains close friendships with some of his muggle teammates.
-Had his first kiss with a muggle girl at swim camp when he was 11 - it was in a game of truth of dare, and she screamed and ran away immediately afterwards.
-Stole a toy soldier from a store when he was 5 because he thought it would come to life like in the muggle movie "Toy Story". He was sadly disappointed.
-His middle name, Paul, is a homage to his great uncle, Paul Kutcher.
