Terry might’ve BEEN older but that didn’t mean he LOOKED older. It was a good job that he wasn’t a legilimens or he might’ve been offended at Theo’s assumption. Even more offended than he was over the fact that Theo clearly had no idea who he was.
The former Slytherin screwed up his nose a bit before interjecting with his name. “Terry. Terry Radley.” Y’know, the guy you spent several years sleeping in the same dorm as? Yes he wasn’t loud and popular and a member of a famous band like some of them were but was he reeeeally that forgettable? “We were dormmates at Hogwarts” he blinked figuring that just an explanation of his name wouldn’t be enough to stir up his clearly awful memory. He could’ve also added that he was the messy one who left his socks around the room or that he had the bed to the left of Jozsua or that he was the guy that would usually be found out with the magical creatures but he assumed that would be unnecessary information regardless. If Terry decided to ever hint at taking Theodore’s fudge, he would be extremely disappointed. He had spent his hard earned sickles on those, despite their flaws, and he wasn’t one for sharing. He’d probably give them to his sister as butterbeer flavour might not be the best choice for his young nieces to share.
Of course Terry wasn’t that forgettable, but in all fairness it had been almost 30 years since he had seen him. That thought was enough to make anyone shudder. Theodore hadn’t noticed his ex dormmates clear frustration at not being remembered, but he would be pleased to know that a simple memory jog of his name brought it all back. His eyes widened and he smiled a little. “Ah! Terry Radley, of course… you look different, mate, but also the same.” Did that make sense? He meant that as a compliment, of course. Theo stuck out his hand to offer a shake. It was to be a bro!shake rather than a formal one.
“Sorry for not realising it was you.” Really, he was. “My vision isn’t what it was.” It was better to blame his vision over his memory, in his opinion.
