How had she spilled...don't ask? It was kind of a whole thing but she had stayed in the Great Hall until she had finished cleaning up! So the ink had been all smeared and she had misread Potions for Charms and gone to THAT classroom first. Obviously once she got there it was clear that this was not the place and so she had gone down the corridors and peeked in every classroom before passing through the Friar who had directed her in the right direction. So...Anna was properly sprinting through the corridors, aware but not entirely aware as to just how late she was. Reaching for the door, she gave it a firm tug to pull it open when...to her GREAT dismay, the door did not budge. The little Hufflepuffle was no match to the promises of physics and gravity and all that fancy stuff, meaning she was unable to come to a sudden stop and SLAMMED into the door. *THUD* *rattle rattle rattle rattle*
Once the door stopped dancing on its hinges, Anna's eyes opened to the ceiling and a dull kind of throb to her forehead. Her curls had protected her on the fall, you see, but not on the initial impact and now she had some indents on her forehead from the knots in the wooden planks that made up the door. One side of her back was also very very black and a little moist now too. Rubbing her forehead, the Hufflepuffle quickly gathered her papers that had flown out from her bag during the whole ordeal and lightly tried the handle again *rattle rattle rattle* to no avail.
Oops x 2.
The good thing about these wooden doors though was that you could still kind of hear things through them if you pressed your ear hard enough to it. SO...to waste not...Anna plopped herself down on the ground right in front of the door so she could press her ear against it from time to time and picked the piece of parchment least covered in black ink to take notes on. Her quill, now bent in a couple of places and with the feather end barely holding on towards the middle, scrapped against the bottom of her bag to collect what ink it could from the fabric and she started with dating her parchment before her ear went to the door for the next step - 'three favorite things' - which she wrote but...her quill had next to no ink on it so it was mostly just scraping over the parchment and poking holes in it as she tried to write 'rainbows, bubbles, storybooks'. Javier jumped a little when a loud THUD shook his door, causing some dust above the door frame to fall onto the floor as whoever was on the other side tried to rattle the handle again. THIS was precisely why he locked the door once class started - but students generally run into the door when they couldn't get in. He assumed that was what it was, of course, and he sighed to himself as he headed over to the door, waved his wand and opened it to find one Anna Walles sitting on the floor.
Bless her heart, it APPEARED as if she was trying to follow along with the activity from her spot on the floor. Or perhaps she was scribbling unrelated nonsense on her parchment - either way, he wasn't about to leave her sitting out here, no matter how tardy she was.
Another heavy sigh. "Perhaps you'd be more comfortable at your desk, Miss Walles," he said, opening the door and gesturing for her to come in. "And three points from Hufflepuff for your tardiness," he added. Despite her (apparent) dedication to the lesson from out here, rules were rules.
