The reusable cousin to the staple."

Finn was unorganized, yet he kept track of his inventory. If he was correct, there were a little over three dozen paperclips in various places around the shop. "Accio paperclips!" He called with a swish and a flick. There was a brief moment before they came with a zip zip zip from all the dusty corners of shop. They came in all shapes and sizes, a select few even in colorful plastic. A couple were still clipped to papers when they were summoned, and one came from his pocket, looking suspiciously bent like it was inside a lock.

About forty paperclips in total had gathered themselves into a ball that he held with his one gloved hand, presenting it to young Ary and Bry. "Take yer pick." Cute kids, but he was a little disappointed that their request was for something so simple. Maybe he had something a little more magical for them around here somewhere.

It was simply a very special hat that had been placed upon her small head of blonde hair by her wonderful boyiefwiend.

Shhhhhh, there was no lying here! She was very brave and not afraid of anything. Yup, he didn't know what he was talking about. Things like that could slide though because they were busy. Busy searching for paperclips. And other random interesting junk.

"Uh-huh! Just paperclips. He collects them." He being Aryan. Bryony gestured to her bestest companion that was knelt down beside her. Shining blue eyes watched as paperclips of all sizes and colors came flying from around the shop. "Lookit, Ary! Paperclips!," She giggled. "That one's pink!" Pink was a pretty color. So was the faded holey old reddish pink hat on her head that they'd found. "Do you like them?" Her attention was turned to Ary now because they were all for him anyhow.

Ary eyed Bry. Did she remember that he also turned the paper clips manually into lopsided objects? Then again, it was okay if she didn’t mention it to the adult here; the verdict was still up in the air about if the man could be trusted. His eyes briefly trained on the feather dusters as he tried to follow their movements. But Finn’s own movements distracted him too, and the words. Staples and paperclips were related? Ary was shooketh!

The moment the boy caught sight of the paperclips zooming their way, his little face lit up. Paperclips may be simple and mundane, Mr. Shopkeeper, but they were highly entertaining in the right hands. But Ary wouldn’t say no to something more interesting. He reached out to select a mixture of silver and coloured paperclips. He nodded to Bry. “Pretty.” Of course the pink one was collected because Bry liked it; he offered it to her because she needed at least one clip too.

“Thank you,’’
he told the man. Maybe Ary could trust him a little now. A look was passed to Bry: Dad Adi would pay for the paperclips. He could trust her to relay the message to Mr. Smokes here.
