The poor woman had been through the worst pain Trixie could imagine with the loss of her husband and the blonde would always feel guilty that she still had her partner by her side and that she couldn’t take that grief away from Vashti. Freddie had always been a relatively sickly person but the thought of losing the man who had been by her side since she was seventeen was utterly unbearable.
The former Head Girl had taken that day off of work as a Professor of Healing Studies at the university in order to meet with her friend. She had found it much easier to schedule time now that her five children were all grown up, although the thought that her eldest Tabitha was turning thirty-five that year was truly horrifying. Having also spent the past thirty-three years as a Healer and only recently making the switch to teach rather than practice had also left her with spare time of which she could make the effort to socialise.
Her blonde tresses tied neatly in a ponytail curled to perfection as it always was and her heeled shoes clip-clopping along the cobbled pavestones that lined Diagon Alley, Trixie headed into the Leaky Cauldron perfectly on time. She spotted the brunette nestled in a booth and with a soft smile on her face approached her friend. “Vashti, my love” she greeted in her posh sing-song like tone, her arms outstretched ready for a hug. “It has been far too long.” In her opinion anyway. She hadn't been seated long before Trixie appeared, bringing a smile to Vashti's face. She got to her feet and warmly embraced her friend. "Indeed it has," she agreed. They certainly made time for each other when they could over the years, between their busy schedules. Even now that their children were grown - a thought that was still strange every time she recalled it! Wonderful too, because she was so immensely proud of all of her kids, but also strange because it felt like they were little only yesterday. But teaching at St. Woboldo's Primary School kept her busy, and she enjoyed volunteering her time for various places and causes as well, especially in recent years. Not to mention the grandchildren! It was always a delight whenever she was able to visit with them. But no matter how much time passed between a proper visit, it was always easy to pick up as if no time had passed at all with good friends, like Trixie. "I'm glad you could make it."
