Lola took a small step backward. "I took a step around the corner, and you were here. Just because I'm close to you doesn't mean you can touch me." Okay, so Lola hadn't been watching where she was going. Whatever. "It's nothing personal. I don't like being touched by anyone. That's why I'm here, to buy pranks to throw at anyone who tries to push or poke me." Why was she telling this to her? Lola wasn't sure. She wasn't even sure what she thought of this person yet, but their near collision (due to Lola not looking where she'd been walking) was enough to bring this out of her.
All the happy thoughts about seeing Caes and Darius evaporated and were replaced by confused ones. Confused thoughts about Lola to be precise. “Um. Okay? Thank you for the unsolicited information?” Aria had no intention of getting into any sort of confrontation with a second year, of all people. Also, she did not go around making physical contact with anyone just like that. So, overall the advice wasn’t even needed. “Okay, okay. I got you.’’ Point noted, you little Ravenclaw. Aria glanced at the selection of Fizzing Whizbees then back at Lola. “These are a great product for situations like those,’’ she said, offering some unsolicited advice of her own. “What do you think? Or do you have other products in mind?” |
