Anashti l Brat Pack l Sally & Dr. Finklestein "It's good to be able to find the humor now in fights from far back then." Especially when none of it had hurt their bonds in the long run, in fact perhaps reminiscing now brought them even closer. "Hopefully your parents can all laugh about it now too. Especially when they see how well you've turned out." And probably his brother's as well, though she certainly couldn't speak to that since she did not know them. Another giggle, as she shook her head in amusement. "So you're a big fan of lassi then? At least he knew how to apologize in the way that really mattered." She teased. At his question, she paused to consider for a moment, rifling through her time with her family. "When I was around 6, my parents had taken me to a dig site with them. I had gotten so excited looking at some newly uncovered pottery, I wasn't paying attention when my parents called me to follow after them further into the site. When I realized they were gone, I went back to the refreshment tent to eat some snacks and wait for them but... I guess they didn't notice. They spent the whole day frantically going through tunnels and the site trying to find me and... I was happy as a clam with a bag of fruit snacks." She giggled again, giving a small shrug of her shoulders. "I could tell my mom wanted to scold me for not listening, but Dad wouldn't let her because he was just glad I went back to what was familiar when I couldn't see them." It had been the first time it happened, but certainly not the last. At least they'd always known where to check if she was actually lost.
It was always amazing to her how many people did not seem to understand that the easiest way to handle a relationship with another person - was simply to believe in them, give them opportunities to prove themselves. The fact that Suresh seemed to agree with her on this ideal made her heart give a couple erratic thumps, and her smile softened a bit as she nodded. "Exactly. I couldn't agree more." It said a lot about him too, and things that she liked. "Well, thank you. I certainly don't think you are either." This 'date' really wasn't going the way she had been planning, was it? But... it was going really well, which she would probably kick herself for later. "I have friends and my parents but... I have friends in Brazil too. And part of me has always hoped to get my parents to move with me. Other than them, there hasn't been any type of relationship strong enough to keep me tethered to one place or the other." Which had always been her preference, which was why she'd meant to not be getting close to him anyways because she could recognize she was in danger of him being a strong enough tether. "It's especially hard too to know if we're ever even getting it right considering there's no one left who actually wrote these symbols. We can study and study for our whole lives, but it still only comes down to it being a translation. And translations always seems to lose some of it's original meaning. A shame isn't it?" Don't get her wrong, she could still see the important in studying - which was obviously why she had chosen this - but still, it was hard to not be a little morose about whatever hidden meanings she knew they were missing. At the touch of his hand to hers, she nearly jumped but forced herself to remain composed. The even added contact sent her stomach even more aflutter, and her face turned the smallest bit red which she tried desperately hard to conceal. "I'm okay! I suppose I'm just feeling the slightest bit embarrassed that I don't have more recognized."
