"No," Regulus said, somewhat evasively, in reply to both questions, although he could understand why the sight might seem curious. But then, seeing the look on her face, Regulus returned her a similar, crafty little smile. "Or else the others might be going off too, wouldn't they?" Were some sneakoscopes more sensitive than others? He thought maybe, but didn't know for sure the only kind he'd ever seen were heavily modified, otherwise they'd have been going off constantly, given who it was that owned them. "It's weird - it just woke up as I was passing. Do you know how to shut them up?"

Unorthodox suggestions also welcome. Maybe there was a heavy book somewhere in here that they could smash it with.

Not that she appeared untrustworthy enough to have this unexpected problem on a regular basis, or anything. It was just, she had been the only one passing at the time, so...
