A huge eye roll happened as a result of Vera's comments about paleness and how Vasco shouldn't listen to him -- first of all, he definitely was not as pale as he used to be thanks to some summer sun, and, second, his opinion would always matter more than hers. The scarf she had sent his way was caught, but that certainly wasn't going to be of any use to him. "Cover up with a scarf ... in the blazing hot summer ... how clever." Because she clearly hadn't thought of that. Just like she hadn't thought about how obnoxious a gold dress would be.

"She's totally wrong about the buttons," he told his best friend, watching as Vera meandered off to ... to do whatever. "You look cool." And the girls would be totally into cool-looking guys like them when they strolled into school with these fits.

The opposite could be said about the shirts that Vera had just returned with. Logan glanced down at the warm brown shirt he was now holding and then at the maroon one Vasco had. "You can't be serious, right?" he asked, blinking at her. Black or red would have been a million times better than the warm brown colour he got.

A snort escaped him after her comment about him being knowledgeable about trolls. He was going to be the bigger person and leave it at that. The twirl was noted, and she did look nice doing so. That, however, wasn't something he was outwardly going to admit. "Spitting image of the trolls in that Barnabus the Barmy tapestry, you are. And I say that as the expert here, as you kindly pointed out. ... Oh, yes, silver would be loads better. And do more twirling. Then maybe you can pass as human."
