"Animal-assisted therapy sounds cool..." He had therapy, and he had a dog, but he didn't have them together. "So what kind of animals do you foster?" Was it just pigs? Now that would be pretty interesting.
Noah knew more about coffee than ranches and he was pleased that the conversation went in that direction next. "Well," he admitted, scratching at his arms, "Making coffee at a cafe is my job. One of them. I also work at a bakery. And I also make drinks. And I also make and sell potions on the side. And I also go to school." He had wayyy too many things to do and wayyy too few hours in the day to do them. "So I know a lot about lots of different drinks." Actually he knew about a lot of things. If something could be mixed from different ingredients, there was a good chance Noah could figure it out. "Yes, my sister is who I'm going to see. She's all the way in Wiltshire, but I always visit because she's little and I'm sort of her family." Her WHOLE family! It was his responsibility to see her often. Plus, the staff at Stemp House seemed to like him, and they liked his drinks even better. He was constantly stopping by with coffee for them and gifts for his favorite Phoebe. "You can't have been the only vegan at Hogwarts, though. And lots of people have dietary restrictions. Personally, I'm terribly allergic to seafood. The house elves were quite good at dealing with anything that came up." He paused, hesitating a moment. "I used to spend a lot of time around house elves in my seventh year." He'd needed somewhere without other humans around, and he'd needed to feel useful. The house elves were really kind, and he had nothing but nice things to say about them. Such convictions were of neither here nor there to Jericho. Perhaps the only thing he would modestly frown upon was in the dishonestly that came with pretending and the invitation it sent to miscommunication and presumption - both of which carried toxic undertones to interpersonal relationships. Such was the plight of being such an earnest and vibrant grass green soul. "Nurturing and humbling. It is truly a miracle to witness that which can be shoved aside by the simple embrace of a cow. Snowflake, our Charolais, gives the best if I do say so myself." In fact, he was quite keen to head back to the ranch and sit with Snowflake in the meadow just above the stream. Perhaps with a good book. Or with his pen and paper so that he could write another correspondence to June. The cow did need to be let out for a couple hours of grazing. "Oh, the majority are often referred to as livestock, though I find the term to be particularly demeaning so I would rather call them something one of our visitors used. Barnyard critters. Cows, sheep, chicken, horses, and pigs take up the majority of our land...though not limited to them. Non-magical creature, almost exclusively so, and any magical creature that falls into our hands I see to it that they are transferred to Creatures and Cwtches Sanctuary where they can receive proper care as we lack the equipment and means on the ranch." Which also meant that the ranch was a place for magical and muggle alike to mingle, all thanks to humble and earnest creatures given their second chance at life.
He could speak of the ranch and its inhabitants for days if permitted to do so.
"Ah, a man of of the brewing trade, I see," Jericho smiled fondly, knowingly, while shifting his legs a bit wider to allow Poppy to weave around his legs as she pleased. "Not at Espresso Patronum nor the Leaky Cauldron. I surely would remember a handsome face were I to have gazed upon it before." It did sound like too much to have on ones plate, but it was not his place to offer unsolicited advice - particularly when one considered the many plates he himself had spinning. Besides, he was not on the clock as a life coach in this moment. "Very kind of you. I am sure she appreciates the effort, especially knowing that you are such a busy individual with your hand in more than a single glove."
Jericho shook his head, his long straw colored locks dancing across his face and over his shoulder while he smiled. "No, surely not. Though I never did press them for such information and, at least among my immediate Hufflepuff kin, I was the only one and was rather adamant in my insistence. Some may have labeled it paranoia and I was a bit obsessive and forceful in my youth. Hence my praise for the house elves."
Though even Jericho's forceful was still quite reminiscent of a whisper.
