Was Davet… okay?
Staring at him, Jude was full of concern for the other guy who seemed to have zoned out. Maybe Jude had been too forward with asking the question. Maybe that coupled with the kissing had been too overwhelming for Davet. Darn it! He should have been more tactful! He opened his mouth, about to attempt to bring Davet back to the real world when - much to his relief - Davet spoke up.
Ah… so it seemed Jude had shocked him, after all. “Yes, YOU,’’ the Hufflepuff replied with a smile. Now that Davet had recovered, Jude was enjoying the reaction. “I figured we’d give it a shot, see where it went.” There was more he wanted to say as warnings, like how he still wasn’t over Evan and that he doubted he ever would be, that he couldn’t guarantee falling for anyone that way ever again, that Davet was more than welcome to tell him no…
But the other boy was too wonderful for his own good. Of course he said yes. Despite his thoughts, Jude’s face lit up with another smile. “You have no idea how happy you’ve made me,’’ he said softly. There was a possibility that now Jude would be able to focus on trying to move on now that he and Davet were a thing. There was a possibility that he would stop thinking so much about Evan.
Little did he know how wrong he was. |
