David O. Truebridge Mysteries | well well well Professor Pink | Mrs. Bruce Wayne | I'm on a Goat | Glitterpuff | Dumbledore's Defense Squad | BHB Unlike some of his impatient, goblin-like newly-hired coworkers, the oddest of which always seemed to find their way to the Department of Mysteries, David was here because he wanted to be, because he appreciated what a modern marvel this gala was. What an undertaking and feat of magical cooperation this must have been. What a pain to organize. What a gift that he just had to appreciate and not involve himself in. Ah. It was lovely to be on the outside looking in sometimes.
He was also here because he hadn't forgotten the trident they'd all inspected shortly before the holidays. What were the chances that that had been related to this? David was sure there was a connection to the shore, but he might need a little liquid inspiration to get his gray matter working properly as he wandered beneath the sea this eve. Quote:

It would be rude of him to just stare at the tattooed hands clutching those glasses though, wouldn't it? Maybe David could get away with a few more moments of staring, a few more... ah, no, he'd better be the more intelligent party and use his words.
"Why are you here?" There, yes, there was a greeting for his old classmate. So good to see him all grown up like this and somehow permitted into this function. Rehabilitation works! And all that other nonsense David did not believe in. But his curiosity had gotten the best of him and that was that. He couldn't take the words back now so he just sipped his wizard beverage and stared some more. |
