A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
Daniel pulled a small notebook and a pen from his bag as the Professor began the training course, ready to jot down any new information that was provided. He wasn't joking when he said he wanted to be an Animagi one day and that he was going to take these courses very seriously.
He wasn't shocked that they needed an Outstanding in their Transfiguration OWL, and fortunately for him, he was fairly decent for his age, even practising spells a year above him. His wand-type had an advantage here as well, as the wand-maker had told him that it was ideal for Transfiguration. It seemed as though the universe had predetermined him to follow this route. However, there was always a drawback to everything.
For one issue, he wasn't certain if his parents would just let him begin this journey, he knew Minjae would be fully supportive, but that was because he was a wizard himself. His parents were muggles who had little understanding of the magical world. And the thought of something going wrong with their youngest son becoming stuck in a half-human, half-beast form would frighten anyone. In other words, he needed to persuade them into giving him permission.
He'd already done some theoretical research on the subject, so he knew he couldn't choose his Animagus form. He remembered Maya Nam asking him what form he 'thought' he would take, and his response had been a cat type. Trying not to get distracted by the thought of the older Slytherin, Daniel watched as the professor transformed into his Animagus form. Tucking his pen behind his one pointy ear, Daniel looked positively impressed as the man turned back to his human self.
A career of stealth and disguise was exactly the reason why he had wanted to become an Animagus. Although he had been looking at different options lately in case a career in curse-breaking would not turn out well, it was still his top pick.
Have any questions? Yes, he had a bunch. But he had a sense they would be addressed once they began, so he remained silent for the time being. If they had not been answered, he would ask them later. So, without saying anything, the Hufflepuff began to stretch.
