She set out her own bowl as students started to fill theirs and discuss how the shapes and wax could form.

Or...look and see what shapes they form?"

Sitting back at her table (and not staring at the candle), Violet looked around the room to see if any first years needed help with the Aguamenti charm.
"The cold water will have the wax hardening quickly which will make it form in shapes very good observation."

Ah!

It seemed this was indeed that form of Divination which Aria had heard about. She knew there had been water involved! Aria took her wand, muttered the appropriate charm with gusto so that her bowl filled with water in no time. Only then did she raise her hand. “Um… the water helps the wax to cool, right? So, much like tea leaf reading, we try to figure out what shapes the wax make then do an interpretation from there.’
"Very good, the wax will form shapes once in the water. I like your comparison to the tea leaves as well."

And the water is for quick healing????"

The worst idea really. And she was completely ignoring the factor Professor Euka had already said the wax would not burn them.

Also, for the second instruction... She leaned closer to a table nearby with older students and went "PSSSSST. could someone help me with water?" Pretty please?
"Again and for the final time, the wax will not hurt you. You will not be burned by it. It will be fine." She wasn't going to discuss that further.

Hearing V's answer Maria wanted to giggle since it was so different from the others but she chose not to. She wanted to be V's friend and in order to be that she didn't want to accidentally upset her. Raising her hand she said "I agree with Violet and partly Aria. I think the wax will turn into clumps when it hits the cool water and will turn into different shapes that we can interpret like in a tea leaf reading, but it should be easier to see shapes this way since the wax clumps shapes will become more prominent that tea leaf ones." Looking around at the other tables she followed V's example waving her hand with a big inviting smile "Can someone help me fill my bowl with water?" She had tried the water spell, but the result had caused a small flood in the toilet at home and her mum had not been very pleased. So help pleaseeee?

"Yes, they will take some forms, very good."

"Very good everyone, so just to summarize what was said, the wax once hitting the cold water will become solid and make different shapes. Those shapes will be what your reading will be based on. The symbols will mean different things for example wings will mean a journey you will be taking or an X is a blockage of a pathway that you need."

Turning she looked at her own bowl, "The next step is to lean your candle over the already lit candle. Let it burn until the wax starts to roll down the candle. Once it does you will lean it over your bowl and let it drip into the water. Once the wax has dripped into the water blow out the candle and watch the wax form a shape. Please right down your shapes on your parchment."

She leaned the candle over and demonstrated the steps letting the wax fall to the bowl once it had burned for a bit.
