The first weekend of the new term and Leanne had made the decision for an impromptu meet-and-greet of the Gryffindors. She only hoped that they would attend, but given the time that she scheduled the meeting, the had little place else to be except for the common room. It was after dinner and during dinner that night, Leanne had enlisted the help of a house elf or two in decorating the Common Room and setting it up with all sorts of fun campfire treats and butterbeer fresh from the Three Broomsticks.
Was she trying too hard? MAYBE, but also, she really was kind of winging this head of house thing and as only a second year professor, albeit one with much lived experience, she also wanted to get to know her students and only hoped they felt the same and would feel comfortable coming to her?
