Simon was one of the first to show up at the feast. Once again, he had his leather notebook tucked underneath his arm as he waltzed over to the table. A year it had been indeed. He had thought that perhaps the years at Hogwarts would get easier as he aged; however, the castle always seemed to like to prove him wrong. He’d have plenty of tales to share with his own children when he arrived home. Seeing them in person was much better than mirroring or writing letters. Nothing could beat the ability to the touch of holding and hugging the ones you love. Nevertheless, he pulled his chair out from the table and took his seat.
Seated now, he cast his blue eyes across the Great Hall, watching the students walk in. An emotional day for many, he was certain of, as he observed them.
