Conley sighed. Radhika had been going on about wanting to see the unicorns since they had announced they were going to the zoo a few days ago. He wasn’t really sure what her fascination was with the creatures. He figured it had something to do with their shiny manes and horns and hooves. ”Yes mon cheri, we will see the unicorns. But they are on the other side of the zoo. Maybe we can see something else first? The mooncalfs perhaps?” Conley looked over at Sachin for help.

”No! Oooni-corns!” she repeated tugging on Papa’s hand. Her sparkly tennis shoes dug into the ground as she tried to get the adults to follow her. It didn’t matter that she was trying to get them to go in the wrong direction. She just really wanted to see the unicorns. ”Daddy… make Papa go to Oooni-corns!”

Sachin thought there couldn’t have been a more perfect day for today’s family trip. The weather was warm and there was the feeling of a good day being ahead in the air. Even if his and Conley’s elder child was acting up. Radhika clearly had taken a liking for animals and creatures from an early age, something which he thought was good for her. This taught her to love them and gave her a sense of responsibility whenever there was a chance to care for them. The younger man shifted the baby carrier basket in his hand as he met Conley’s gaze. Clearly the husband needed some assistance.

Sachin reached out to take Radhika’s hand and spoke to her patiently in Hindi. “We’ll see the unicorns soon, Radhi. They’re not going anywhere. Besides, all of these other creatures want to meet the little fairy they’ve heard so much about. Don’t you think they would be sad if you didn’t take time to visit them?” He pinched Radhika’s cheek lightly then peered down at the basket. Good. Levi was still fast asleep, his sister's tantrum leaving him unbothered.
