Violet had been grimly tossing the rings, one after another, missing every time and inwardly groaning about teachers who insisted their students perform tasks of athletic ability and coordination in a course that didn't really involve that kind of skill. It was not until the tenth ring, when she was utterly mortified at the prospect of having to walk up to collect the rings yet again, that she finally to snag the top of a bottle--the ring landed crookedly, but it was definitely on the bottle!
