To top it all off too the blasted things wouldn’t even stay still for five minutes and kept moving!
With a cramp in his side from clearly holding his breath whilst rushing up the stairs two at a time, the third year decided that fresh air was required. There was no way he was going to go all the way back down the stairs again so the balcony on the fourth floor was the next best option and thankfully it was usually empty.
Except for today.
A girl he recognised from Ravenclaw was sat out there eating by herself. He stood around for a short while considering whether he should disturb the girls peace or whether to suck it up and carry on up the stairs. He decided on the former. Sorry girl he didn’t know very well but you’re solo party was over. “Those stairs drive me insane!” he mumbled nonchalantly. He was never one for small talk, he would either not shut up or say absolutely nothing at all. Ash hated the stairs too. She had a tendency to fall into the false steps at inopportune times, like when she was headed to the crying closet or late for a class. And then she'd twist her ankle, and then she'd need to go to the hospital wing, and then she'd worry that everyone was laughing at her... not today though. Today, she'd remembered to skip over the occasional illusory step. "Mhm. We need elevators." She turned to look at the person. "And you are?" She hoped he was not going to ruin the party or punch her or something. She was having a GOOD day, and she did not plan on stopping. "I'm having a party." In case he hadn't noticed that she had (regular) food and was (kind of) dressed up. |
