At last, down to business! Violet neatly cut a circle in the top of her pumpkin with a deft
Diffindo and was happily engaged in scooping out the insides with the scoop. Once out, she wound up digging around in the innards with her hands to feel the seeds and separate them out. She could hear the buzz of students' voices in the background, some of whom seemed to be complaining about the 'ickiness' of pumpkin insides. She snorted to herself--if they were squeamish about a little thing like that, imagine how they were going to handle some of the really disgusting potions ingredients. Oh well, not everyone was cut out to be a brewer, she thought complacently to herself.
Using a handkerchief she'd had in an inner pocket to wipe off her hands (because sometimes magical cleansing just didn't get the job done!), Violet looked at her piles of seeds and pumpkin guts. She was pretty sure she'd gotten every single seed, and from the size of her pile, she had more than 2 cups of pumpkin. She was ready!
